Foyer and Hallway Refinish and Painting in Merion Station, PA
A fresh, polished foyer and stairwell can change the entire feeling of a home, especially when the schedule and trust matter as much as the paint.

The problem
This foyer and stairwell in Merion Station needed significant prep work before we could deliver the smooth, finished look the homeowner wanted. All trim required oil priming prior to painting, which meant careful surface prep and a process that couldn’t be rushed. On top of the technical demands, the homeowner was understandably nervous after a very poor experience with a previous painter. Even though we had worked together before (cabinet work in their prior home), this was a larger, more visible wall-and-trim project with higher stakes.
What we did
We started by walking through the space and clearly outlining each step, prep, oil priming for the trim, and finish coats, so the homeowner knew exactly what to expect. Our team focused on thorough prep to ensure clean lines, even coverage, and a durable result that would hold up in a high-traffic entryway. Because timing was critical with an upcoming knee surgery, we planned the workdays carefully and kept communication consistent so there were no surprises. Just as importantly, we estimated the project accurately and stayed aligned with the original scope from day one.
How it turned out
We completed the project on schedule and delivered a beautifully finished foyer and stairwell that immediately lifted the home’s first impression. The trim looked crisp and refined, and the walls had a smooth, uniform appearance that made the stairwell feel brighter and more inviting. The homeowner was genuinely relieved, not just because the work looked great, but because the process felt organized and predictable. They were able to enjoy the refreshed space before surgery and then recover with one less thing to worry about.
I was on a really tight schedule to get this finished, and I honestly wasn't sure if it could be done in time. They pulled it off without cutting any corners. The space looks polished and everything came together exactly how I wanted. Really impressed with how they handled the pressure.
